After what has felt like an actual eternity, Stranger Things has finally returned to Netflix for the fifth and final season. It's been over three years since we last saw Eleven and the rest of the town of Hawkins, but in the show how long has it actually been? We've got all the details.
The fifth season kicked off and reunited us with Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas and Dustin as they and the rest of the group attempt to save Holly Wheeler after a Demogorgon attacks her.
This kidnapping sets off a series of events that brings the group once again closer to Vecna and the Upside Down. But what time period is this all set in? Here's what you need to know.
What is the time jump from Stranger Things season four to season five?
The plot of season four of Stranger Things took place across one week in March 1986 and ended with Max's 'death'. We then saw the aftermath of everything in the show's epilogue which took place two days later and ended on March 29, 1986.
The new season, has a time jump of over a year and as shown in early on in the first episode it kick starts on November 3, 1987. If you want to be really specific it's been exactly 584 days in the series since we last saw the group.
In that time Max has still not come out of her coma, the town of Hawkins has come under military occupation, including a 500 day quarantine and yet the town is still expected to operate as normal, with everyone still going about their jobs.
One thing you may also notice about the start date of the series that is significant is that 3rd November is very close to the anniversary of the date that Will went missing which was November 6, 1983. That's essentially the anniversary of the day he went missing? Seems very suspicious timing to us...
